JUMPING - DRESSAGE - EVENTING

Forward, Straight and Calm
General Alexis L’Hotte set the mantra for the cavalry-based classical dressage: ‘Calm, forward, straight’.
Calm to be able to listen or learn. Forward towards our goals.
‘Straight’ means to keep the horse’s body balanced, even when on the curves. The spine aligns with the curve and this is straight. It is flexibility, adaptability and flow.
When a calm mind and body are aligned, forward movement feels effortless.

Preparing Yourself

Rider fitness is as important as horse fitness.
Cross-country is a physical and mental challenge for both horse and rider. Training is key to building confidence, experience and the relationship necessary to successfully ride a cross-country course.
